Twisted Cozy

I wanted to have a go at cabling, so I thought this would be a good practice piece. Not too big, easy to frog if it went tits up, and just cheap leftover acrylic yarn that I didn't care about. But I like the way it turned out! The pattern is a very loosely translated (yay Google!) version of a french pattern I found on Ravelry, but I made it wider and lengthened the distance between the cables, so it's kind of my own now.

Pretty cables...

Wood button I had in my stash.

Socks!

Started these awhile ago and got about 75% done before I abandoned them. Finally got around to finishing them!

Second sock in progress.

All done!

Not actually uneven.

Hopscotch dress

This is actually the second dress that I've made from this pattern, Hopscotch Skirt, Knit Top + Dress by Oliver + S (of course). I still need pictures of the first one, but I wanted to post pictures of this one before I forgot. I've also made a shirt version that I love. Post to follow!

I really like this pattern. Only five pattern pieces, and after making it once, it goes together really quickly. Patterns like this makes me love my serger even more. I could make this without it, but it would take a lot longer and be a lot more frustrating, especially with the polyester jersey. That stuff is slippery!

She picked out the fabric. I think it's cute, reminds me of Missoni stuff.  She calls it her 'zig-zag dress'.

A little hard to see past the pattern, but I love the crossover neckline.

Winter coat

This is actually the second coat that I've made from this pattern, School Days Jacket and Coat by Oliver + S. And looking back, I don't think I ever posted the first one, so I'll have to do that later.

The main fabric is an aqua babywale cotton corduroy.

The lining is a fun 100% cotton quilting fabric. Look at the owls! So cute. I also added a Thinsulate inner lining, so it's super warm (and a little poofy, too).

I made it in a size 6, so it's a little big, but I wanted to make sure it would fit her next winter, too. I think she likes it.
